Patchwork of Flavours, a heart-warming, value-added recipe book, not only has the technical aspects of cooking the dishes, it also brings out the cohesive efforts of our community to preserve and pass on valuable recipes from the elderly to the younger generation. You can find a wide range of recipes from Starters, Main Courses to Soups, Desserts from different ethnic groups.

It is completed with a group of students who spend time & efforts for this book project, from interviewing the senior citizens in the community for recipes to whipping up dishes for photo shoots to complete the book.

The donation event, Patchwork of Flavours: Learning Recipes, Bridging Generations by (Nanyang Technological University), held on 28th June 2009 at Bukit Panjang Plaza,The Garden Plaza was a success. Sponsors of this event contributed goodie bags, freebies and lucky draw prizes for this day.

Home-Fix also played their part by contributing up to $1500 worth Home-Fix vouchers for this charitable occasion. A large crowd was drawn to this joyous activity especially when there’s a cheque presentation of S$10,000 to the four beneficiaries. The amount is contributed by the proceeds from the public for the support of the book. Hopefully the charitable occasion can assist the needy elderly in our society and make a difference in their life!

Patchworks is a special project committee of Nanyang Technological University- Welfare Services Club. Led by a group of passionate undergraduates, Patchworks launched a series of social entrepreneurship ventures targeting to amend social perceptions of the different aspects of society and to encourage social cohesiveness.
